The 20kg bales were used to separate and set up exhibitors' stalls at the field days, and on Friday ACM's Rural Events called Aussie Helpers co-ordinator Peter Fanning with the news.
"It is like being given gold - farmers are screaming for it at the moment," he said.
"They are smaller bales, but it is lucerne - the good stuff - nice and juicy."
Mr Fanning will be letting local producers know about the windfall over the weekend.
On Sunday morning, any farmers needing a hand will be welcome to come pick up "about 10 bales each".
"There is probably only enough for about 30 or 40 farmers, but it will keep them happy for a few weeks," Mr Fanning said.
