The figure comes from averaging each of the 100,000 visitors' spend in town at $150 for the three days, not including AgQuip purchases, according to the council's economic development officer Charlotte Hoddle.
Ms Hoddle said the $15 million had "such a huge economic impact on Gunnedah".
"We are so lucky to have such an event in Gunnedah, even for the recognition of our town so people might come for the event and then might visit again," Ms Hoddle said.
"It gets us in the spotlight so anytime an event person is speaking about AgQuip they say 'AgQuip in Gunnedah'."

She said events such as AgQuip were also great for getting through the drought.
"I think it's also a morale boost - having those extra people in town creates a festival-like atmosphere and makes us realise that we're not alone in this drought," Ms Hoddle said.
Ms Hoddle said the council would be surveying businesses over the next week to hear how their sales went.
"Particularly accomodation and food, they're the businesses that probably benefit the most, but doing things like NightQuip is potential to have an injection into our retailers as well," she said.
Gunnedah mayor Jamie Chaffey said it was great the town's accommodation was "once again extremely well-utilised" and described NightQuip as a "resounding success".
"The economic boost to our community in these tough times was warmly welcomed," Cr Chaffey said.
"Many visitors to town that I spoke to that attended NightQuip were full of praise, and initial feedback from the stall holders and businesses that opened their doors was that it was a great success."
Locals are also gearing up for numerous sporting events happening over the weekend, including the AFL grand final between Gunnedah and Armidale, and the Central North Rugby semi-final between Gunnedah and the Tamworth Pirates.
A polo carnival is also being held, as well as the AgQuip greyhound race.
