Gunnedah will go into Saturday's round 21 away clash against first-placed North Companions knowing a win will definitely result in them meeting Northies in the major semi-final the following weekend.
FC and third-placed South Lightning are on 35 points.
South Lightning travel to sixth-placed Quirindi on Saturday.

Before Cygan returned from an overseas holiday ahead of Gunnedah's round 17 match against Kootingal, the side had been experiencing a form wobble after a strong first half of the season.
FC won that match 3-0, then beat Moore Creek 3-1 and Hillvue 4-0.
They had a bye in the last round.
