PREPARATIONS for the Gunnedah heat of the TAB Million Dollar Chase event are in full swing with several trainers weighing up their options.
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) chief executive officer (CEO) Tony Mestrov is set to make a major announcement regarding the event at the Smithurst Theatre on Friday morning.
Tamworth MP and NSW racing minister Kevin Anderson will also be in attendance and is expected to announce the live entertainment for the event.
Gunnedah will host the opening night of the chase series and already high-profile trainers have expressed an interest.
Group one trainer Jack Smith told Sky Sports Radio recently he was toying with the idea of bringing his champion dog Feral Franky to Gunnedah in the hopes of securing an early slot in the Million Dollar Chase semi finals.
However, before the club hosts the opening night of the Million Dollar Chase, it will host its inaugural Kick on After AgQuip meeting on August 21.
Beginning at 5pm, the meeting will provide locals with a stacked eight-race card and live entertainment throughout the evening.
