ONE of Gunnedah's fastest-rising junior stars has shone at the NSW PSSA athletics trials at Olympic Park recently. Gunnedah's Hayden Sawyer thrilled the Homebush crowd during the under-10 boys high jump event. The Gunnedah South Public School year five student out performed his competition qualifying for the national PSSA athletics championships in September. "Hayden suffered a strained MCL injury playing soccer in the lead up to the event," Perkins told the Namoi Valley Independent.
