The eisteddfod will be held from September 13-15 at the Gunnedah Town Hall, and dancers from Gunnedah, Tamworth, Narrabri, Inverell and Singleton have all started to sign up.
Eisteddfod committee member Kerrilee Miller said entries for this year's eisteddfod were going well.
"We are still waiting on a few but it's looking pretty good. We've got similar numbers to what we had last year, around 300," Ms Miller said.

This year, Sydney's Paul Kemp will be the adjudicator. During his career, Mr Kemp has worked with Danni Minogue, Kerri-Anne Kennelly, Bert Newton, Heath Ledger, Human Nature and many others.
"I think it's great to have somebody like that, who brings a bit of experience of all different types of the arts industry," Ms Miller said.
"It's going to benefit [the dancers] a lot having somebody who's done theatre, television, and worked on cruise ship shows.
"He's had experience in a lot of different types of dancing as well which will be great for the district."
Entry for the eisteddfod is $5 per session, $10 per day or $20 for the whole weekend. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
The eisteddfod program will be available to download from the Gunnedah Dance Eisteddfod Facebook page.
Ms Miller said volunteers will be needed for the three-day eisteddfod, with any available persons asked to call her on 0457 076 696.
