Dr Alice Wu started at the centre on Monday, and will work until August 16, when a new locum will take over.
The NVI spoke to Mackellar board member Gae Swain who said they were still looking for a full-time GP.
"The community can be assured that we are still working really hard with the Rural Doctors Network to source a permanent doctor," Mrs Swain said.
Prior to Dr Wu taking over, nurses looked after patients when there was no doctor available. This came after the resignation of Dr Jennifer Hunter, whose last day was July 23.
