Dedication and commitment has led to a Gunnedah Toastmasters club member receiving the prestigious Toastmaster of the Year award.
Julie Rankmore received the award at the club's recent annual changeover event. Her extensive contribution and belief in the club despite floundering membership numbers meant she was a great recipient for the award.
Ms Rankmore held the club president title, but decided to hand the reins over to fellow member Ange McCormack, who will take on the role for 2019/2020.
Northern division director Margaret Payne and Area 31 director Rob Philp travelled to the event to install the new executive team for the year.
The executive team includes:
- Ange McCormack: president
- Julie Rankmore: treasurer
- Bob Kirchner: vice president - education
- Leanne Kirchner: vice president - membership
Mr and Mrs Kirchner were also recognised for their energy in supporting the Gunnedah club, travelling every month from Tamworth to attend meetings and provide guidance.
Gunnedah Toastmasters meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Meetings are held in the Serviceman's Club meeting room, ground floor on Abbott Street.
For more information contact Ange McCormack on 0455 140 266 or visit the Gunnedah Toastmasters Facebook page.
