A Melbourne carjacker who'd been awake three weeks on a drug bender has been jailed for at least a decade over a terrifying rampage in which he beat multiple people with a shotgun.

Patrick McMillan said he couldn't recall any of his "disgraceful" actions when he and another man drove through Melbourne at speeds of up to 200 km/h, stealing two cars at gunpoint.
The pair started their rampage on November 22, 2017, in a stolen Holden Commodore, pulling up alongside another car and pointing guns at the occupants.
The people were forced out of their car, with McMillan and his co-offender stealing their money, phones, wallet and gear.
McMillan hit two of his victims to the head with the butt of his shotgun, while his co-offender slashed another man's face before McMillan kicked the man on the ground, striking him his firearm.
A fourth occupant was stabbed multiple times to the stomach, body, leg and arm, with McMillan also hitting the man with his shotgun.
Two days later, police spotted McMillan, 34, driving erratically in the Commodore.
At one point, McMillan pointed a firearm to a policeman's head, asking: "Why the f*** are you following me?"
After this, police monitored McMillan by air as he led them on a 75-minute "highly irresponsible and reckless" chase through Glenroy, Thornbury and Chadstone.
"You drove at times on the wrong side of the road, on the footpath, through a pedestrian crossing where a person was crossing... through red lights and against signals and signs, causing traffic to stop as you weaved your way, passing cars dangerously," County Court Judge Gregory Lyon said while sentencing.
"Your driving exposed countless pedestrians and motorists to the risk of serious injury. Remarkably, no one was hurt."
During the chase, McMillan stopped and pointed an imitation handgun at the driver of a Jaguar, grabbing her keys and throwing her onto the road before speeding off.
He later carjacked a Mercedes Benz coupe before swapping it for a Nissan Pathfinder after pointing his gun at the driver.
When interviewed by police the following day, McMillan said he had been awake at least three weeks after a bender on ice, cocaine, GHB and alcohol.
"You said you'd been awake for three to four weeks, and stated you were psychotic and had blacked out," Judge Lyon said.
"In all, your actions were vicious, cowardly and terrifying."
McMillan was sentenced to 14 years' jail, and must serve at least 10 years and four months before he is eligible for release on parole.
