"He's a pretty quiet guy," said Red Devils manager Stan Gaynor, in response to the Namoi Valley Independent enquiring about interviewing the No.8.
Red Devils coach Dan Martin also thought that Navatu would prefer not to speak to the paper.
So it is a good thing, then, that Gaynor and Martin were happy to offer their views on the big man.
Because if Gunnedah are to beat Pirates at Ken Chillingworth Oval on Saturday - and record their second win this season over the three-time reigning premiers - Gaynor and Martin believe that Navatu will need to produce a big game.
And they expect him to deliver.

Martin said Navatu was "hugely important to the team", and he would look to him "to make sure we get on that front-foot roll" against Pirates.
"He's very influential. He comes up with the big plays ... He always delivers, and we'll look forward to seeing him deliver again this weekend - running the ball and making those plays."
Gaynor said Navatu was "excellent across the park for us". He "guaranteed" fourth-placed Gunnedah got across the advantage line.
"And he gives us an extra attacking option from set plays, which shows by him regularly scoring tries," the manager said.
"Also, he's very strong in defence. And as a senior member of the team, he is very much a leader in the forwards."
Gunnedah beat Pirates 36-24 at Gunnedah in round four. There is talk that the Red Devils have not beaten Pirates twice in a season before.
Gaynor said: "That's a great question, and certainly one we were talking about last night [Tuesday night] at training.
"Certainly not in recent memory [have Gunnedah beaten Pirates twice in a season]."
Fifth-placed Pirates were beaten narrowly by second-placed Moree and first-placed Walcha in their past two games. But Martin said Pirates remained "the team to beat".
