GUNNEDAH Evening VIEW Club members celebrated Christmas in July at last week's dinner meeting in the bowling club dining room.

Santa hats, Christmas trees and even decorative candles added to the occasion with a few Christmas carols and a festive roast dinner in an evening of friendship and fun. Lorraine Overton added a festive theme with decorative snowmen, while Anne Finnigan delighted each member with individual Christmas cakes.
The club donated $1500 to the Smith Family charity's winter appeal, with sponsorship for three senior disadvantaged students raised through the recent charity film night and other fund-raising activities.

Members voted on the three selected resolutions for the National VIEW Conference, after they were read out to the meeting. The bi-annual conference will be held on the Sunshine Coast in September.
Club delegate Rosemarie Eveleigh spoke about the recent Zone N109 gala day in Glen Innes, attended by 9 of members. Gunnedah Evening VIEW Club is the third largest in the zone, which has 528 members, supporting 36 disadvantaged students through the Smith Family's Learning for Life program.
Members have been invited to Gunnedah Day VIEW Club's 46th birth, A Musical Morning, on Friday, July 26, with Tamworth Evening VIEW Club's 41st birthday, on Tuesday, August 13, at West Tamworth Leagues Club.
The next meeting will see members vying for the trivia trophy in memory of the late Sue Ebbage. Tables will be decided by numbers on entry, with teams sharing their wide range of knowledge to contest the questions set by trivia maestro Anne McMahon.
In September members will be taken on an 'armchair travel" voyage to the Antarctica and Argentinian jungle by recent visitors Marg and David Amos.
The next dinner meeting will be held at GSBC auditorium on Wednesday, August 7, at 6.30pm, for 7pm. Apologies and names of guests should be phoned to Kate on 6742 3926 by the Monday night prior to the meeting.
