Storms delivered more than forecast with some parts of the New England North West region receiving between 1mm and 16mm.
Gunnedah residents woke to the pitter-patter of rain on Monday with 7.0mm recorded at the airport by 9am, but just 3.0mm by the same time in Quirindi.

Mullaley resident Julie Mackay said she received 7.5mm at her house on Bando Road this morning, but by 2pm this had jumped to 16mm.
Curlewis received 7mm, and Keepit received 13mm.
But, it's not expected to hang around, Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Rosemary Barr said.
"With showery and erratic precipitation it can be fairly hit and miss, some people will get really lucky and others less so," she said.
"We see a high pressure system across the state as of Tuesday but we will have the influence of another cold front on Thursday.
"It looks like any rainfall will be confined to the central and southern parts of the state until Saturday and if we see anything then it will be light."
There is no widespread rain forecast for the region in the next seven days.
