Williams said Gunnedah's confidence did not take a hit - as they played most of the second half with 10 men, after veteran defender Wellington Sardinha was sent off. Also, Gunnedah only had four fresh players, he added.
Williams said Sardinha was red-carded for "a kick off the ball".
The skipper believes that Sardinha got a two-week suspension but that the club planned to appeal against the severity of the punishment.
However, he will definitely miss Saturday's away clash against struggling Hillvue Rovers.
It was 2-2 when Sardinha was marched. "Not really," Williams replied when asked if the draw had affected the competition leaders' momentum.
Given that scenario, we were actually pretty happy with that result.

"Given that scenario, we were actually pretty happy with that result."
Wellington expects Gunnedah to post their eighth win of the season on Saturday, provided they "get numbers for both grades".
