The community group held the expo at Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club on Tuesday night, where about 90 locals listened to what 12 speakers had to say.

Can Assist Gunnedah's president Kate Knight said the group was "very happy with the crowd that was there".

"We had lots of ... positive feedback about how good it was," Mrs Knight said.

"The people that were there enjoyed and got a lot of stuff out of it from what each speakers said."

Simpatico Massage Therapies' Sally-Anne Hall was one of the speakers, who said "it was great to see so many people support" the expo.

"I hope they were able to take something away to help them and gain more awareness of what they can do if they have cancer or know someone who has cancer," Mrs Hall said.

Mrs Knight said if Can Assist was to hold another expo in the future, they would choose a different time of year.

"Next time we'd probably have it more in the spring time rather than the winter time, [because] I think the cold weather kept people indoors at home," she said.

Other speakers included prostate cancer survivor Kevin Wilkinson, breast cancer nurse Nerridah Prentice, and Community Health Services' Symone Fuller.
