Twins Annika and Alana were born two minutes apart at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.
At birth, Annika weighed 2.4kg and measured 48cm in length. Her sister Alana weighed 2.5kg and measured 49cm in length.
The twins are granddaughters for Bruce and Amanda Martin of Tamworth and the first grandchildren for Carel and Marinda Teseling of Armidale.
They are great granddaughters for Anne Telfer and Maureen Martin both of Tamworth, and Suzette Teseling of Bloemfontein, South Africa.
While the Martins said they are "99.99% sure" the twins are non-identical, "the only way to verify 100% that they are non-identical is through genetic testing".
