Boggabri Public School
Students headed to Narrabri for the School's Cup. Despite the chilly weather, the students a fantastic day.
In the classroom, Years 1 and 2 have been investigating movement. They have learnt about push, pull and gravity through practical activities. Their learning culminated in a challenge to make a floating ball toy. They had to use their own breath to make the ball rise, and gravity to bring it back to its carrier.
It was harder than the students anticipated but was a good chance to exercise resilience.
Kindergarten's STEM project was to design and make a birdhouse to meet five needs. They had to meet five needs of birds. Year 5/6 assisted with building, which resulted in many creative designs. They will now test out the houses outside.
HACC
Boggabri Home and Community Care celebrated National Volunteer Week recently with a lunch.
The thank you luncheon was attended by almost 50 people, who enjoyed the chance to catch up.
"Our volunteers make a world of difference that money cannot buy. What they give so freely, words cannot express our gratitude nor describe the meaningful and positive impact of their contribution to our service," HACC said.
"It is not the funding that sustains the service; it is the generosity of time and spirit and the willingness to help, that provides the care and support to our seniors."
Gunnedah Meals on Wheels president Colleen Fuller was the guest speaker at the lunch and spoke about the changes and challenges facing small services and the importance of choosing and using local services.

In the sphero ball challenge, students had to code the sphero ball with their Chromebooks to run inside a marked course.
Cox House were the overall champions of the day.
The schools thanks everyone who helped make the day a success.
"Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, family and friends who came and participated in many of the activities that were conducted. Days like these require a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure they are a success," the school said.
"The staff have received many positive comments regarding the day, so well done to everyone concerned."
