Gunnedah Public School
Students from Years 3-6 were lucky enough to get the opportunity to participate in some STEM challenges run by university students, sponsored by Komatsu.
The students had to create sustainable wind turbines and floating houses using limited resources. They were all very creative and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Students also got involved with Reconciliation Week activities such as cooking and eating traditional Kupp Murri food and sporting events. K/1R and KH also received a highly commended award in the Kindergarten choral speeches section of the Gunnedah Eisteddfod.
Those who received five value stickers were also invited along to participate in an obstacle course or have a disco. 70 per cent of students were in attendance of either activity, and the school is hoping 75 per cent of the school population will have achieved the sticker level so they may attend in Week 10.
St Xavier's
School leaders at St Xavier's Primary School travelled to Moree to join in with other Catholic primary schools in the region for Catholic Schools Week celebrations.
They joined in for a Catholic Schools Week mass with other students from Moree, Boggabri, Gunnedah, Walgett, Warialda, Wee Waa, Mungindi, and Narrabri.
Carinya
Year 7 Carinya Christian School Gunnedah students travelled to Bicentennial Park in Tamworth and met up with Year 7 students from the Tamworth campus for Sustainable North West's The Amazing EnviroRace.
The aim of the race was to help students gain a positive attitude towards the environment and science and technology in a fun way, and to learn more about the importance of sustainability. Hands-on projects and expert advice were incorporated into the race.
Students worked in pairs and thoroughly enjoyed working together to complete the EnviroRace.
