Beginning their weekend-long double-header against North Companions on Saturday, the home side wasted little time getting on the board.
Taking an early lead, Gunnedah FC looked to put the foot down before North Companions hit back with two goals of their own.

However, it would not be enough as Gunnedah put in a big second half to run out 6-2 winners.
Playing a make up game on Sunday, Gunnedah FC was keen to make it two from two when taking on the Kootingal Kougars on the road.
The visitors wasted little time, picking up where they had left off on Saturday.
Early goals piled the pressure on the Kougars, who were unable to find an answer to Gunnedah's attacking weapons.
At the final whistle, Gunnedah FC had romped home to a 5-0 victory.
The back-to-back victories see Gunnedah FC move into third position on the first grade ladder behind Moore Creek and South Lightning.
It was a similar story in reserve grade as Gunnedah FC claimed two wins.
The winning run started on Saturday as FC accounted for North Companions 7-3.
After Saturday's four-goal win Gunnedah continued the double-header with a 4-2 victory over the Kootingal Kougars on Sunday.
The victories see Gunnedah FC sit third on the reserve grade ladder.
