Mrs Goodwin is retiring from her position at the Tamworth store, but Mark and Peter Kenny will remain at the Gunnedah store, where they will "continue to offer the same service".
Manager Peter Kenny said he would be stepping down from his current role and taking up a position in sales but, other than that, "all staff remains the same".
"It's a change in the name only ... it's really just business as usual," Mr Kenny said.
"[Mark and I] will continue what we've been doing for the last 40 years.
"It's a big step, but it's got to happen at some stage."
Mrs Goodwin said it would be tough to leave the business after 31 years of service, but she had decided she was ready to retire "and the opportunity presented itself for somebody to buy the business".
Goodwin Kenny is situated on the Oxley Highway opposite Namoi Valley Bricks and Stripes Engineering Services.
