Local women of all ages showed off the latest styles from local women's store Willow & Fli, all in the name of charity.

Gunnedah MS Incorporated group member Rhonda Smith said the event was "very successful".

"Around 80-90 people attended, and everyone was very impressed with the speaker [Dr Julia Thompson]," Mrs Smith said.

"She spoke about a variety of topics to do with the brain."

Consultant neurologist Dr Julia Thompson has done work in MS, epilepsy, autoimmune neurology, neuroimmunology, headache and other specialist clinics after graduating from the University of Sydney.

MS is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

The disease affects more than 25,600 people in Australia, and there is no known cure.
