A spokesperson for Gunnedah Shire Council told the NVI there had been "some really positive feedback about the roundabout".
"We've worked closely with the community and specific stakeholders to ensure any considerations or concerns they've had have been addressed," the spokesperson said.
Funding for the roundabout came from the Black Spot Program, under the Safer Roads Program, because motorists and pedestrians had given feedback about near misses at the intersection.
The $250,000 project includes the installation of a "drive-over" roundabout, upgraded pram and disability ramps, enhanced lighting, asphalt-wearing surface, and traffic calming devices to address pedestrian safety.
