Quirindi's performance against Moree wasn't the only cause of pride for Lions first-grade coach Col McKenzie last Saturday.

McKenzie was also a proud dad, with children Angus, Tom and Sophie all running out in Lions colours.
Sophie was part of history as the Lionesses secured their first-ever victory, while Tom lined up at six and Angus inside centre for the first-grade side.
Circumstances had meant that until Saturday, all three hadn't been available to play on the one day. Sophie missed the season opener against Pirates, while Angus didn't go to Barraba.
It was a special moment, and added to the delight of a day that saw the Lions almost produce the upset of the season, a late try to Mitch Adams denying them.
As Col did "as a young fella in the '60s", the boys first pulled on the Lions jersey as juniors.
"When Tom was doing it, Angus was running around with a football in his hand with Tom's friends and annoying them," he reflected.
The oldest of the trio, Tom (26) hasn't played a full-time season for a couple of years. Six years his junior, Angus turned 20 just last month, and had a couple of games last year for the Lions before heading up north to the gulf.

Around the sport all her life, the advent of the Lions women's side this season meant Sophie (24) could also pull on the boots.
"Now that Sophie's on board with her rugby, she's loving it," Col said.
"She always loved rumbling with the boys in the backyard."
He said their involvement was a big part of the reason he'd put his hand up to coach this season.
"I thought I could throw my hat into the ring, thought it would have been fun," he said.
Even wife Sally is involved. A registered nurse, she "patches up" the players.
"It's a family thing," he said.
"I never would have done it without their support."
It has been a tough draw to start the season for the Lions. They've had two of the top three from last year in their first three games.
Soon to be three in four games with the Lions headed up the mountain to take on a red-hot Walcha side on Saturday.
Last year's runners-up are coming off a huge win over premiers Pirates.
"It's a very big test this weekend," McKenzie said.
He remembers from his own playing days how hard the Rams are to beat at home.
"They're going to be really hard to deal with," he aid.
"We've got to try and maintain possession of the ball and, when we haven't got the ball, defence is really the secret."
It will be with some sadness the Lions will take the field on Saturday, with the news filtering through on Thursday of the passing of former coach John Taylor.
Taylor coached from 2008-2010 and "helped with all grades mentoring the boys on club grounds and off clubs grounds" a tribute post on the club's Facebook page said.
