Winless until round nine last season, they couldn't have started their 2019 campaign any differently picking up a pair of wins over Narrabri on Saturday - and two bonus point wins to boot.
"It's exactly what we wanted - two bonus point wins," stand-in coach Lincoln Stewart said.
After winning the opening game 22-7, they backed up with a 22-nil victory.
"It was pretty impressive from them," Stewart said.
"There's a fair few new girls in the side, it was their first competition game."
He counted probably seven new players they've picked up, although they have lost some too.
The majority of the new recruits have come across from league tag, and in the case of Maddy Collison have already been fast-tracked to representative honours.
Before she'd pulled on a Red Devils jersey, Collison had suited up for the zone, playing for Central North at last month's sevens country championships.
"She's a pretty fierce competitor," Stewart said.
She is also "a ball player".

"She's got a really good footballing mind," he said.
"She can read the play well."
Collison was adjudged the players' player, although Stewart said it was tough deciding the points and players' player after what was a very strong overall performance.
"I couldn't find many faults in the team," he said.
He said the first game was "a bit of playing what's in front of you", which for the Red Devils early on was the Blue Boars coming at them.
"We had to spend about three or four minutes straight up defending," he said.
They were able to absorb the pressure and when they got their opportunities took them, running in a couple of tries before the break.
For Stewart the most pleasing aspect of the day was the defensive effort.
"It's something we've targeted for the last couple of weeks, our defence and also that secondary effort from the second player coming in," he said.
The Red Devils are now preparing for a grand final rematch with premiers Inverell.
