There's story telling and simple handicrafts in the morning from 10.30am-11am for children aged 0-7, Tuesday-Thursday at Gunnedah library. The session is free, and bookings are required - just come along and enjoy.

Older children are catered for on the same days at 3.30pm-4.30pm. There's a charge of $3 for older children and the theme of the two weeks is superheroes.

Make a Spiderman or other superhero mask, Dumbo the elephant, pencil toppers, speech bubbles, or try your hand at string art, which takes longer than you expect! Bookings are essential for these sessions - please ring the library on 6740 2190 to secure a place for your child.

Readers of all ages are catered for in the library and plenty of new books have been added to the shelves this last week, including 12 new westerns and 10 new romance novels for the large-print readers.

Among the new normal print fiction are The right girl by Ellie O'Neill - "when you have the perfect life, should you listen to your head or your heart?' There's also a new novel by best-selling Australian author Fleur McDonald, which is described as "moving, suspenseful and action packed". It's called Sapphire Falls and it's ready to be checked out and read.

There's also a brand new thriller by Amy Gentry, Last woman standing. This is a book that "will keep you guessing until the end", which is exactly what you need as the nights get longer.

Remember if you can't come to the library to change your books, you can join the Shop Bound library service and get a bag of books delivered to your shop every fortnight, or you can sign up for our eResources platform, which offers talking books and a range of books and magazines. You'll still need to join the library to access all the titles, so come on in, fill out the forms, and enjoy this new service!
