At about 2am, Gunnedah Fire and Rescue, police and ambulance services were called to attend the scene on South Street and ANZAC Parade.

According to Gunnedah police, a Jeep was travelling along ANZAC Parade towards Conadilly Street when a Toyota Hilux travelling west towards Gunnedah Showground crashed into the Jeep.
The driver of the Hilux allegedly tried to turn in front of the Jeep but hit the side of the vehicle, causing damage to the front of the Jeep and the Hilux to flip on its side, police said.
The female driver of the Jeep was taken to hospital for observations.
Police allege the driver of the Hilux fled the scene on foot, and are appealing for witnesses.
Officers are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash and are investigating the registered owner of the vehicle.
