A radicalised inmate wrote a letter threatening to kill the NSW Corrective Services Commissioner if he didn't stop his staff "oppressing" the prisoner, saying "I will personally execute you in public".

Bourhan Hraichie also spoke about a planned attack on police, prepared in prison for an attack on correctional officers, and carved an Islamic State slogan into his cellmate's forehead, according to a statement of agreed facts tendered in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday.
The now 21-year-old faced a sentence hearing after pleading guilty to four charges including doing an act in preparation for a terrorist act, causing grievous bodily harm/wounding to a person with intent to murder and sending a document threatening death or grievous bodily harm.
The facts say that before Hraichie entered custody on non-terror-related offences in 2015 he spoke about a plan to have police officers killed in Bankstown - either on the steps of the police station or after calling officers to the false report of a stolen car.
In prison, he wrote a document titled "The Book of Jihad" to provide inspiration for the plan, before it was abandoned and he started preparing to attack corrective services officers.
When Hraichie learned his cellmate was a former soldier, he attacked him by punching him, binding him with ropes he'd made out of bed sheets, whipping him with a cable and carving "E 4 E" - meaning "eye for an eye" - into his forehead with a razor.
It was after his transfer to another prison in 2016 that he wrote his threatening letter to prisons boss Peter Severin, referring in it to his "loyalty and affiliation with Islamic State", the agreed facts say.
He told police he wrote it because he was unhappy with his conditions in custody and he intended to carry out his threats.
In his AFP interview, Hraichie also praised the killer of Sydney police accountant Curtis Cheng as a "little lion" for the "fear he put in the hearts of Australia", and said that if he were out in the community, he would not hesitate in carrying out an attack.
Justice Peter Johnson on Monday issued non-publication orders over some of the evidence, including the recording and transcript of Hraichie's police interview, out of concern that it could be misused by Islamic State supporters and anti-Muslim extremists to urge and encourage action.
He said it was clear from "recent acts" that people with an anti-Muslim stance could use the material for their own purposes, and the use of propaganda in the name of Islamic State was also a real prospect.
