This weekend Gunnedah’s CommUNITY Carnival Day will be celebrating its third year at Wolseley Park on Saturday, March 16, from 9am.
The Carnival is a great day for the whole family to participate in celebrating Harmony Day, a day of inclusiveness, belonging, respect and an opportunity to explore all of the rich and diverse aspects of cultures from around the world.
The event will include multi-cultural markets, food vendors offering cuisines such as Thai and Bangladesi food, and stall holders in conjunction with Two Rivers Arts Council’s Country Market Day.
There will also be a free jumping castle and face-painting.
Gunnedah's Paint the Town ReAD will be giving out free books to children and will be conducting origami demonstrations.
The day is held in conjunction with Gunnedah’s Weeks of Speed Tractor Trek down Conadilly Street from 10am and the Annual Show and Shine event in the Woolworths car park from 10.30am.
Gunnedah Conservatorium and Gunnedah Shire Council have organised interactive live music workshops in Brock’s Court with Kavisha and Andrew Clearmont exploring body percussion, ukelele, Italian folk songs and collective choir techniques.
