The comments from the local paediatric and maternity support group came after Nationals candidate Kevin Anderson announced $53 million funding for a new hospital last week.

"This has always been the end goal, what we have been working towards," PRAMS chair Kim Street told the NVI on Wednesday.
"We put this on the agenda through talking to the local community and hospital staff, the local health committee put this on the agenda, the hospital auxiliary put this on the agenda, and Kevin Anderson has listened to the community.
"Our hospital has great bones and it will be so exciting to see it redeveloped into a facility that will serve Gunnedah well into the future."
Gunnedah GP Rob Parsons has echoed PRAMS' comments.
"Over the last decade we have seen numerous band-aid upgrades and repairs with a good deal of these being directly funded by the people of Gunnedah through the hospital auxiliary and most recently PRAMS," Dr Parsons said.
"It’s time that the people of Gunnedah have a new hospital with upgraded patient and staff facilities that bring us into the 21st century."
Since PRAMS was established more than a decade ago, members have been actively pursuing improvements for hospital facilities.
Over the years, Mrs Street said PRAMS "hasn't just fundraised but pulled up its sleeves and actively been involved in delivering the projects".
"We have actively put our heart and soul into improving the hospital and all the time we have been talking to the community, local government and our local member Kevin Anderson," she said.
