The ride aims to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention, and occurs on the one day in more than 34 locations Australia-wide.

The co-ordinator of this region's event, John Holyoake, said it was "amazing the conversations you have" during the ride.

"It's an excellent conversation starter, and that's what it's all about," Mr Holyoake said.

"It's not about raising money; it's about raising awareness and conversation."

The ride will begin in Tamworth, in the car park of the Court House Hotel, at 8am.

Riders will then stop in Nundle, before heading to the Terminus Hotel in Quirindi and then moving onto Wolseley Park in Gunnedah around 12pm.

From there, riders will make their final stop at Somerton, where the Somerton Family Fishing Club will provide lunch.

Prizes will be be awarded for the furthest ride, the oldest bike and the oldest rider.
