Line dancers from Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale, Curlewis, Moonbi and Werris Creek stepped up to the community hall for hours of action, led by Travis Taylor.

RSPCA and Footloose Line Dancers member Linda Taylor said it was a "fantastic day".

"It was just outstanding," she said.

"Everybody was just on a real high about helping RSPCA and a lot of people were so interested to know what we actually do and happy to know everything that was donated that day was going to stay in Gunnedah."

Footloose Line Dancers donated $1000 on the day, participants brought along food for cats and dogs in care, and the Dance with Travis group put on a "beautiful" lunch for the dancers.

"It's lovely, just the thought that someone gets behind you and supports such a good charity," Ms Taylor said.

Each year, Travis Taylor holds a charity line-dancing day and said he chose the Gunnedah RPCA because he liked to support local organisations.

"I know how hard the ladies at the RSPCA work and I know at times that they go out of their ways to make their animals safe and sound," he said.

The funds will be used to assist the RSPCA in feeding, vaccinating, worming and desexing animals in car.
