At Carinya, students from prep to Year 7 took part in a hands-on workshop with Reptile Education, Safety, Training and Awareness (RESTA). The students learnt about reptile awareness and safety and were able to touch, hold and view a number of different reptiles, including snakes, lizards, goanna, and a saltwater crocodile.

While some students (and teachers) were apprehensive about getting up close to the reptiles, the school was glad to see students conquering their fear of reptiles and even patting a saltwater crocodile.
St Xavier's Primary School's Year 6 leaders headed to Sydney on Monday for the Halogen National Young Leaders Day where they met Olympic swimmer Cate Campbell who was a guest speaker.
Back in the classroom, Year 3 students received awards for 25 consecutive nights of reading.
Gunnedah Public School got out of the classroom on Friday for Namoi Partner Schools' new sports initiative, which is in its third week.
