Daisy's Water Carrier is running two trucks full-time to keep up with demand, delivering water to farms and households as far as Pilliga.

Director of Daisy's Nerylee Durrant said the past two years had been flat out for the business, with deliveries seven days a week.

"Over the past few months we have carted hundreds of thousands of litres of potable water [from the standpipe]," Mrs Durrant said.

"We have farmers needing water for stock as their bores are drying up, but also customers needing household water as they have been relying on tank water.

"With no rain having fallen, the amount of these customers phoning for water is increasing daily."

Mrs Durrant said there had been an increase in orders over the last twelve months, and a spike over the last six months.

Each truck can travel up to 500km in a day to deliver water sourced from a standpipe at the Gunnedah Shire Council's depot.

Mrs Durrant said residents needed to keep on top of their water levels.

"People need to be vigilant in checking their tanks to ensure they don’t run out of water," she said.
