Every kindergarten child in Gunnedah, as well as other areas like Curlewis, Manilla and Willow Tree, will all receive a drink bottle in order to encourage them to drink water.

Gunnedah Public School kindergarten students were all very excited when they received their bottles on Monday.

CWA Namoi Group president Yvonne Argent said she hoped the water bottles would be used for drinking water, and not other sugary drinks.

"It's up to the parents to put water in it at home," Ms Argent said.

She said the money for the water bottles came from lots of raffles and other fundraising.

The CWA has been busy in the last six months, helping farming families during the drought with funds, food and household necessities.
