"I want to get their ideas on what they think is missing not only in the Gunnedah Hotel but within Gunnedah as a whole, and get an idea of what people want," Mr Prout said.
"Gunnedah people seem really friendly; it’s got a really nice small town vibe and I'm looking forward to lots of new people."

Mr Prout is taking over from former owners Chris and Kim Gibbs, who bought it seven years ago when it was the Regal Hotel.
The new publican has many ideas for the pub, including a new menu, with plans to change it every 12 months to "give it a different offering, like a different region or style of food".
But he said those who love the classic schnitty or steak could still get their fix.
"We'll [also] be doing trivia on a Tuesday night, and we're going to be starting to do seafood tray raffles on a Thursday night," he said.
The publican will also change the name of the hotel to The Gunnedah for "simplicity".
Meet the Publican Night will start at 5pm on Friday.
