THREE rising young swimming stars from Gunnedah have qualified for the NSW Country Swimming Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from February 22-24.

Sixteen-year-old Maddie Coombs will contest the 50m and 100m freestyle as well as the 100m backstroke, while Andre Steele will take on the cream of Country swimmers in the 14 years 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly.
Amelia Lush has been going from strength to strength this season and is sure to give her best in the 12 years 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke.
Lush and Liette Tindall, 9, will also represent Swimming Gunnedah and Swimming New England North West at the Speedo Sprints final in Sydney on Saturday, March 9.
The pair qualified at the area heats held at Manilla pool, on February 9.
Up to four swimmers per event from each area are eligible to compete in the finals, although state and national medallists are excluded from the competition, previously known as the Shell Age Titles.
Lush is eligible for the 12 years 50m freestyle, backstroke and butterfly, after winning the freestyle and finishing second in the form strokes.
Tindall will represent in the nine years 50m backstroke after grabbing third place in a personal best time.
