Tickets sold out as locals gathered to see local talent perform alongside the country music singer who is visiting her hometown after shifting to Nashville in 2017.
For Burgoyne, the concert was a chance to share her stories from Nashville and encourage Gunnedah’s young singers and musicians to pursue their passions.
“The kids had a blast; they were so much fun to work with,” she said.

A special moment saw the songbird perform with a former vocal student Samantha McAlpine.
“She was one of my first students when I came back to Gunnedah and started teaching singing,” Burgoyne said.
“She reached out to me about coming to the show and I thought about how much I would love to share the stage with her."
Despite ongoing problems with her sinuses and battling laryngitis ahead of the weekend, Burgoyne was thrilled with the concert.
“The response was incredible,” she said.
“It was so great to come back home and look out at the audience and see familiar faces.
“There were a few intimate moments where I’d look out and see tears. There were also many fun moments.”

The singer-songwriter said she couldn’t have done it without the help of locals.
“I feel so incredibly blessed for the support that I had putting on the show,” she said.
“[I’m thankful to] Jamie, Mick, Steve, Trevor – all the band – [and] my family were such a huge support. My mum in particular.
“Heather Sloan was such a great help through the whole process, helping me manage the kids.
“There were people who traveled from Sydney to see the show. It was a pretty special night.”
