The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘Voice. Treaty. Youth.’ and acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australia’s democracy.
Gunnedah embraces the week every year, holding morning teas, an art exhibition, a march, flag raising ceremonies, and biennial awards as pictured in our flashback gallery.
Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous entities are all eligible to apply for the funding, as well as schools.
Application and submission details can be found at https://www.pmc.gov.au/indigenous-affairs/grants-and-funding/naidoc-week-funding. Applications close February 25.
