Many local students received their certificate from notable members of the community, surrounded by friends and family.

Isaac Jeffery, a past recipient of the scholarship, gave some great advice for the young students.
“There will be challenges at University, and as you prepare yourself for the work force and again when you take on that first job,” Mr Jeffery said.
“But if you remain positive, look for opportunities and chase them, nothing will stop you from achieving your goals and having fun along the way.”
Maja Heath said she was excited to begin her physiotherapy degree at the University of Newcastle, of which she will study for four years.
“I’ll probably use the money for textbooks and accommodation,” Miss Heath said.
Second-year nursing student Amy Vincent said her scholarship money would help with “the cost of living.”
“Groceries, fuel and everything else is all so expensive so this will help a lot,” Miss Vincent said.
Sirrah Harris will go into the third year of her four year Bachelor of Agriculture degree at UNE, which she is completing via distance education.
Miss Harris said she will be using her scholarship for textbooks.
