Hosted by Louis Tennis Academy, the three-day camp has given the eager youngsters a chance to brush up on their basic skills such as, serving, doubles play and rallying.
Camp co-ordinator Craig Louis said the camp also taught the kids “the importance of sportsmanship.”
“A lot of these kids already do coaching and play regularly, so this is a great way for them to perfect their skills,” Louis said.
“For us, it’s all about making it a lot of fun for the kids and really driving home the importance of sportsmanship.”

Louis said creating a “fun atmosphere” was key to hosting a successful camp.
“We are really trying to focus on a few key areas each day,” he said.
“It’s just so great to see so many kids out and about getting active during the school holidays.
“If we can help not only get them active but improve their tennis as well, then it should hopefully keep them coming back.”
The camp will culminate with a tournament on Thursday.
“I think it’s really important to include a bit of a fun tournament in the camp as well,” Louis said.
“To me that’s usually the best way for kids to get used to playing in a real tennis match.
“All in all the camp has been a lot of fun and hopefully a really memorable activity for these kids during the holidays.”
