DROUGHT RELIEF SHORT FILM SHOWCASE
The Gunnedah Youth Council Drought Relief Short Film Showcase is an opportunity to get a glimpse into country life from young peoples’ perspective. There will be finger food provided at the start of the night. All short-listed entries from the GYC Drought Relief Short Film Competition will have their film shown on the big screen. Entry is free for short-listed entrants, and they will be presented with a certificate. Proceeds to Buy-a-Bale. Tickets $20 for adults and $10 for under 18s. AUSSIEFEST: RAFT AND CRAFT REGATTA
Due to the drought, this year’s Australia Day Raft and Craft Regatta will be held on dry land at Gunnedah Rugby Club. Make yourself a cardboard land raft to keep the tradition going. It will be raced in groups of four except for the races for under five and 10 years. The event starts at 8.30am.

There will be an Australia Day church ceremony under the gums at 9.30am at the Dorothea Mackellar Statue in Anzac Park.

TAMBAR SPRINGS AUSTRALIA DAY PARK PARTY
The Tambar Springs Progress Association has organised yabbie races, thong-throwing contests, water games and the daggiest hat competition to celebrate Australia Day. Bring along your chair, cossies, yabbies, hats and thongs to Memorial Park at Tambar Springs from 10.30am.
