RED Liberty swamped his rivals to win the final race of the day on his new home track at Gunnedah on Tuesday.

Now trained by Gavin Groth at Gunnedah the son of Ifraaj was having his third run for Groth and while Greg Ryan was having his first ride on him he’d seen the previous runs and was confident he’d run well.
“His run at Scone two starts back was super,” Greg Ryan said.
“If he produced that today he’d be hard to beat.”

He not only reproduced that but was given the run of the race by Ryan to storm home down the middle of the track for a two and half length win from Dan Roy with Duble Gaze a half neck away third.
“He let down super,” Ryan added.
Groth also thought he was a good chance on his Scone run.
“I’ve only had him the three starts,” he said.
“Had an opinion of him from the start though. The track didn’t suit him when we took him to Inverell. I thought he’d be better placed here.”
Gavin Groth said he has no immediate plans for Red Liberty and was waiting to “see how he pulls up” before making any definite decisions.
