The Gayna Williams trained gelding proved strong for the quality field, finishing less than half a length from Bianbitten and hot favourite Reward the Chaser.
Morgan stayed in touch with the 10-horse field throughout the race before eventually surging down home straight to claim victory.

Williams said she was pleased with the five-year-old’s performance.
“We were a little concerned the track might be a little too firm for him,” Williams said.
“But he certainly didn’t seem to have too many problems with it, which is good.”
The win was the Mudgee trainer’s second for the day, after We Can’t Be Beaten claimed the Aussie Helpers Maiden Plate in the previous race.
For Morgan the victory was another taste of success as it was his second win in three starts aboard George Two.
“He jumped good today and I rode him a little closer than his last two starts,” Morgan said.
“He has to be inside his comfort zone, if he’s not in his comfort zone he doesn’t tend to finish too well.
“But he travelled really well today as he has in his last two starts.”
Williams said Morgan and the gelding had formed a strong partnership during their three rides together.
“He [Morgan] seems to suit the horse,” she said.
“The horse goes good for him.
“He rode him well and the horse responded.”
