From NSW country champions to state champions, the centre has boasted some great results this year and looks to continue growing in 2019.
Volunteer coach Lauren Robertson said the individual performances achieved by the centre’s gymnasts in 2018 would not have been possible without a “team atmosphere”.
“It’s been a very successful year for Gunnedah,” Robertson said.
“On our higher levels we are currently showing a small amount of gymnasts but in comparison to the bigger clubs we go up against, our quality of performances is very good.
“When our members compete outside of Gunnedah they usually finish on the podium or close to, which I think is a testament the consistency they all have.”

Gunnedah has boasted several top performers throughout the year, with Stella Robertson taking out the centre’s overall achievement award as the centre’s top performer of 2018.
“From an individual stand point, pretty much all of our girls have tasted some success,” Robertson said.
“In terms of our higher levels gymnasts, Indiella Bryers who competed in level five this year, went on to claim the NSW state bronze championship and silver NSW country championship.
“While Alice Edmunds competed very strongly throughout the year after coming back from a couple of health concerns.
“Then there is Stella Robertson, who took out the NSW state country championship and our club achievement award.
“She has been so consistent all year and like all of the girls has worked really hard to get the results.”
Robertson said the centre’s coaches deserved “a lot of credit” for the successes 2018 has brought.
“We are so lucky to have quality coaches at the centre,” Robertson said.
“I know with our higher levels gymnasts have been very fortunate to have 19-year-old Emma Barnier around to help them out.
“Emma has been so generous with her time, having her around as both a Gunnedah girl and a great gymnast has been so great for our girls.
“We thank her for being involved during her gap year and wish her all the best for the future.”
Robertson said the club would look to continue to grow in 2019.
“It’s all about growth for next year really,” she said.
“We will continue to work hard and put our best foot forward and hopefully continue to reap the positive rewards.”
