Construction on Gunnedah’s new inclusive playground will start in 2019.
Gunnedah Shire Council awarded the detailed design plans contract for Livvi’s Place to local business Stewart Surveys after expressions of interest closed in August.
“The detailed design plans are expected to be finalised by late February 2019 with council advertising for the construction tender shortly after,” Gunnedah Shire Council’s community and social planner Debra Hilton said.
“Livvi’s Place Gunnedah remains on track to be completed by the end of December 2019.”
The playground project came about as the result of Ashley Bender’s petition to the council in 2013 to build an inclusive play space.
The concept plan was developed by Stewart Surveys following extensive consultation with the community and the Inclusive Playground Working Group.
The playground will be financed by the council and the Stronger Country Communities program.
