Gunnedah South Public School students got a first hand look at what the winners of next year’s Sydney International will take home when the men’s and women’s trophies stopped in at the school as part of a touring roadshow.
The day proved to be a smash hit with the students as they also took part in a variety of activities hosted by Get Set Tennis, which taught them the basics of the sport.

The recent visit comes fresh off the back of outstanding performances from several of Gunnedah’s rising tennis stars at the NSW JDS state finals in Sydney.
Several locals dominated the courts with Vitorio Sardhina claiming the under-14 state singles championship and Caitlan Bourke the under-10 state singles title.
Mason Louis (under-12 doubles) and Isabelle Moore (under-14 doubles) also enjoyed their fair share of success at the tournament.
The quartet helped the North West become dominate the championships, taking home the second most titles.
