Lots of new books have been added to the junior fiction and young adult fiction collections this week.
Amongst the junior titles are The Red Fox Clan, one of the Ranger’s Apprentice: Royal Ranger series.
Maddie, the Royal Ranger apprentice, fights to save her family and her crown against the plots of the Red Fox – “Who is the man in the red fox mask?”.
The story by John Flanagan moves along at a brisk page-turning pace – excellent for young readers!
James Dashner, of Maze Runner fame, has written another set of books for young adults: The 13th Reality set, and the first one is titled Journal of Curious Letters.
Twelve clues have to be found to stop reality from splitting.
For younger readers who love horses, The Princess and the Foal, based on a real-life story by Stacy Gregg, is worth a try.
It’s been described as a “great new book”.
And Weir’s back, and extra weird in this hilarious book by Anh Do, Weirdo 3.
Text in different colours and font sizes and styles and cartoon illustrations on each page make it a good book for those youngsters progressing to “proper chapter books”.
Junior Brain Games session is on tomorrow from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. The session will take an hour.
Numbers are limited to 10 children for Junior Brain Games, so to book a place for your child, please ring the library on 6740 2190 to book a place.
See you soon at the library!
