With the Higher School Certificate already fading into memory, the graduates dressed up for their formal at the Gunnedah Services and Bowling Club.
Year supervisor Simone Carlyon shared some last words with the 25 students who graduated this year.
“You have worked hard, completed all of your exams and this is your very last Gunnedah High School function,” she said.
“It is probably hard to believe that you have finished.”
Ms Carlyon said for the past six years, their teachers had tried to impress the school motto of “respect, responsibility and doing your best” onto the students.
“I can assure you that living your life with these three values in mind will be an asset in future career development, relationships and your own personal well-being,” she said.
“Over the past six months the assembly revamp of both the Australian Anthem and our school song – Sempter Optime – with Mr Heath leading the charge, reminds us to remember where we have come from and to always stand proud.
“It always brought a smile to my face seeing particularly Year 12 students embracing this with vigor at our assemblies.
“I know you will all channel your own superhero when it is needed to get you through future challenges in life.”
Major awards were also presented on the night.
