The solo is “a reflective story of the unknowns” told as a narrative and is written by playwright, poet and essayist Noelle Janazweska.
The narrator explores the concept that there few unknowns left in the world on a trip to the Amazon when she discovers her father has been diagnosed with an illness that is still one of the greatest unknowns in the world – Parkinson’s disease.
“Good with Maps is a rare and beautiful production,” Gunnedah Shire Council cultural precinct supervisor Lauren Mackley said.
“The story skillfully raises the tension and just as skillfully diffuses it with comedic segways.
“The audience will follow along the narrator’s journey of humour, contemplation, exploration and discovery.
“You don’t want to miss it.”
The work will be performed by Jane Phegan and has received nominations and awards at the 2017 Sydney Theatre Critics Awards.
Good with Maps is on November 15 from 6.30pm at The Civic. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.thecivic.com.au
