“A touch of tartan” was the theme for the night, with everyone adding a scarf or ribbon to their outfit.
Trish Conway provided some great Scottish bagpipe music which played throughout the evening and a display of kilts, clan books and other Scottish memorabilia added to the ambience.
Heather Martin played the bagpipes for highland dancer Katie Kingdom, who delighted members with her stylish Scottish dances and traditional outfit. VIEW member Kerry Keating presented gifts to the duo as a small token of appreciation.
Next month’s dinner meeting will be a celebration of Christmas, with an island theme. Members are invited to wear whatever relates to an island of their choice - grass skirt, sarong or other island wear.
The festive celebration will be held in the auditorium, with Moana Shoobert demonstrating and then encouraging members to learn the hula dance.
A recent morning tea gathering in Anzac Park was followed by a visit to the Gunnedah Water Tower Museum which proved a real eye-opener for many.
The next meeting will be held at GSBC auditorium on Wednesday, December 5, at 6.30pm for 7pm. Apologies and names of guests must be phoned to Kate Knight on 6742 3926 by the Monday night prior to the meeting.
