The Boggabri Tractor Shed and the Gunnedah Rural Museum fired up eight old tractors and a late model tractor and took to the streets in Boggabri, heading to the Willala hall where the local CWA branch provided a morning tea.
Boggabri local and tractor shed member Geoff Eather said while they were stopped in Willala they we were able to look at the other tractors in the group and “talk about how we came to have these old tractors still going so others can see some of the machinery that was used in the past”.
The group then used the back roads to travel to Baan Baa – a run of about one-and-a-half hours – to have lunch with Karen and Geoff Nicholson at the old Baan Baa school and “what a great day it was turning out to be”. After lunch, the tractor enthusiasts travelled an hour back to Boggabri.
“As this is the first trek we have organised it was great to have so many enjoy the day and we are looking forward to doing it again next year,” Mr Eather said.
